The Quiet Strength Support Circle

Is This Right for You?

What Is the Quiet Strength Support Circle?

The Quiet Strength Support Circle is a professionally facilitated virtual community created specifically for women who are childless not by choice.

Childlessness doesn’t end when fertility treatment ends, when a relationship changes, or when someone decides it’s time to “move on.” It can continue to show up in unexpected ways—in friendships and family relationships, holidays and milestones, questions about identity and purpose, changing social circles, aging, caregiving, and thoughts about what the future will look like.

The Quiet Strength Support Circle was created to provide something that can be difficult to find: an ongoing place to talk about those experiences with women who truly understand them.

More Than a Support Group

The Circle combines connection, education, reflection, and practical support in a community that understands that childlessness is not one experience or one stage of grief.

Members come together twice each month for live virtual gatherings.

One monthly gathering is an educational and interactive workshop exploring topics relevant to life without children. Depending on the needs and interests of the community, we may explore:

  • Identity and purpose beyond motherhood
  • Grief that changes rather than simply disappears
  • Navigating friendships and relationships with parents
  • Boundaries, insensitive comments, and difficult conversations
  • Holidays, Mother’s Day, back-to-school season, and other triggering times of year
  • Loneliness, belonging, and changing social circles
  • Dating, partnerships, and relationships
  • Aging without children
  • Building meaningful traditions and milestones of our own
  • Rediscovering joy, possibility, and a future that feels genuinely ours

The second monthly gathering is a facilitated support circle—a more open space to talk about what is happening in your life, listen to other women’s experiences, share what has helped, ask for support, or simply be present with people who understand.

There is no pressure to share more than you want to.

Support Between Gatherings

Members also receive a monthly Quiet Strength Toolkit with reflection exercises, practical strategies, prompts, and resources related to that month’s conversations.

The goal is for the Circle to be more than two meetings on your calendar. It is an ongoing community you can return to as different seasons, challenges, milestones, and opportunities arise.

Professionally Facilitated. Personally Understood.

The Quiet Strength Support Circle is facilitated by Alyssa Koch, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist specializing in the emotional impact of childlessness, including disenfranchised grief, identity shifts, life transitions, relationships, and rebuilding meaning and purpose when life has unfolded differently than expected.

Professional facilitation helps create a thoughtful, emotionally safe environment while still allowing the Circle to feel warm, genuine, relaxed, and human.

This is not about sitting around talking about everything that is wrong with our lives.

It is about having a place where all of it can exist—the grief and the growth, the anger and the humor, the difficult days and the really good ones.

You Don’t Have to Be in Crisis to Belong Here

Some members may be newly confronting a life without children. Others may have known for years or even decades.

You may still be grieving deeply. You may have built a life you genuinely love and occasionally find yourself blindsided by something you thought you had already made peace with. You may simply want more friendships and connection with women whose lives look a little more like yours.

There is room for all of those experiences here.

You don’t have to be “over it.”

You don’t have to be struggling all the time.

And you don’t have to navigate every season of life without children on your own.

Quiet Strength is a place to connect, learn, laugh, reflect, grow—and build what comes next alongside women who truly get it.

Why I Created the Quiet Strength Support Circle

When I began specializing in supporting women who are childless not by choice, I noticed a common theme: many women told me they felt profoundly alone.

Not because they didn’t have people who cared about them, but because they didn’t have people who truly understood them.

They longed for a space where they could speak honestly about their grief without worrying about making others uncomfortable. A place where they didn’t have to explain why Mother’s Day was difficult, why pregnancy announcements still stung, or why their grief continued long after their fertility journey had ended.

As both a licensed therapist and a woman living this experience myself, I understood that need.

I created the Quiet Strength Support Circle because healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we’re able to share our stories, feel genuinely understood, learn practical ways to navigate life’s challenges, and discover that we are not alone.

My hope is that every woman who joins this community leaves each gathering feeling a little lighter, a little more hopeful, and a little more connected than when she arrived.

Because while none of us can change the path that brought us here, we don’t have to walk the rest of the journey alone.

Meet Your Facilitator

Alyssa Koch, LCSW

“Like many of the women I work with, I understand that childlessness is far more than the absence of children. It often involves grieving the future you imagined, redefining your identity, and finding purpose in a life that unfolded differently than you expected.

Creating spaces where women feel seen, supported, and genuinely understood has become one of my greatest passions. The Quiet Strength Support Circle brings together my professional experience and my commitment to helping women build meaningful lives while honoring their grief.”

Imagine...

Imagine logging into Zoom and seeing familiar faces—women who understand without explanation.

Women who know why certain holidays, milestone events, and family gatherings can carry a quiet, heavy weight that others often miss.

Women who celebrate your victories, sit with you through difficult moments, and remind you that you don’t have to carry this alone.

Imagine having a place where you don’t have to defend your grief, minimize your pain, or pretend you’re “over it.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this therapy?

No. The Quiet Strength Support Circle is a therapist-facilitated support community focused on education, connection, encouragement, and personal growth. It is not psychotherapy or a substitute for individual mental health treatment.

Can I join if my fertility journey ended years ago?

Absolutely. Many women discover that grief evolves over time. Whether your journey ended recently or decades ago, you’ll find understanding, connection, and support here.

Do I have to share?

Not at all. Some women enjoy speaking during every gathering, while others prefer to listen until they feel comfortable. Both are welcome.

What if I miss a gathering?

Life happens. You’re welcome to attend whenever you’re able. Each gathering is designed to stand on its own while contributing to your ongoing growth and connection.
